I am just checking in to say hello. I haven't been inspired to write much lately. My head is full of things that are going on and all I can do is blurt out, "I don't know." It is like I can't come to any clear decisions about the thoughts running through my head. Does that make sense? I am annoying myself, but I think I am on overload because of so much happening at work, in the news, and to my friends.
I also feel anxious about the election. The negative stuff will come out in full force now from both sides, and I wish they did not have to count on destroying one another to win an election.
I finished reading Barbara Walters book Audition last week. I found it a very interesting read, all 576 pages of it. She has had a very remarkable life and so connected to so many historical events. The book jogged my memory quite a bit since I lived through so many of the events she wrote about, and it was juicy to read all the background details.
She was a co host on the Today Show for 10 years, before they actually "officially" introduced her as a co-host! She paved the way for all the women journalists who followed. I enjoy watching her on The View and I am a sucker for all of her celebrity specials.
Does anyone watch The View? I started taping it everyday a couple of years ago. It is one show that catches you up on what is going on from the silly and mundane to the big stuff. It has been getting very heated lately with all the election news. The husband even watches it with me (just hot topics)... but don't tell him I told you guys!
Yeah, it's 2012!

I think a lot of people are feeling overloaded right now.
I don't think I've ever watched The View . . . except maybe when I've been waiting in a doctor's office.
Take care.
The time I used to spend watching TV I now spend blogging and reading blogs, although I love the AMC series, Mad Men. It's set in the 60's, so the clothes and furnishings are a trip down Memory Lane for me. That Barbara Walters book sounds like a good read. So many books. So little time. (Sigh.) Re: our stressful world. As Mae West once said, "Fasten your seat belts. It's gonna be a bumpy ride." Take care.
hi...my mom read that book and really liked it. i think that i might check it out of the library again to read it. i am always amazed at how barbara gets so many people to answer personal questions and she is very kind and treats people very well yet still she does get almost all of the time the answers that she wants.
i think fall can be a rough time for lots of people...even who do not have mental health issues. it is taxing i think when it gets darker earlier and it is getting colder and such. fall is typically a hard season for me yet so far it has been o.k.
i hope that you are taking great care of yourself....oh about the view i watch it sometimes. the main reason that i do not watch it is because i am not typically awake and moving by the time that it is on.
I hardly ever catch the View. I'm usually at work. I don't even get time to watch my favorites.
Write when you feel like it. No pressure. I need to tell myself the same thing!
For a multitude of reasons many of us are feeling overwhelmed lately, and I am sorry that it has bitten you as well Lena.
Remember to breath, and take time for yourself, even if it is five minutes.
I have also found it beneficial, when I hear something negitive on television (which I have been avoiding like the plauge), to simply send the situation love and then let it go. That is the most powerful thing we can all do to bring about change.
Love and blessings to you Lena!
