I got the call today from my doctor. I have early stage colon cancer. I am being referred to my surgeon for laproscopic surgery. He said he feels I should have a favorable outcome.

I am so sorry to hear this news. You certainly don't deserve another battle with cancer, but then again, who does. I will be praying for you.
Peace.

I know how powerful hearing you have cancer can be. I also know that you are a winner. I am glad that you heard your doctor's positive comments. He/She knows from experience that most cancers are cured. Remember to play everyday.

The best news is "early stage." very curable -- inconvenient and not great, but curable is good. THANK GOD you are sober!!

So very sorry to hear this, Lena. You are an amazingly strong woman & after all you've been through & all the lessons you've learned, I have no doubt that all of this misery will be behind you very soon. Please stay strong & know that you can handle this. You are being tested for sure but you're gonna come through with flying colours. Love & prayers are being sent your way. Be good to yourself~it's your time to be selfish now. Take care, my friend.

Wow, you've had quite a year. But "early stage" is good news. Mom had the same diagnosis in her late 80's, and died of "just wearing out" a few months before turning 100. Still, you've been through enough. Once you're past this, you'll deserve the smoothest of sailing from here on in!

My first response to reading this was "Oh crap, like she doesn't have enough on her plate already!" Sometimes it feels like life just keeps thowing curve balls. I have been impressed with the strength you've shown in facing breast cancer head on while dealing with family issues on the side. To us you appear strong, while I'm sure there are days you don't feel strong at all. The good news is that it isn't a losing battle, you can and will come out a winner on all counts, and the day will come down the road when you will look back and smile at having survived it all. I pray for cures and rapid healing, and I pray for you a long life with many happier days and adventures yet to come. Keep us posted, we care! You are also teaching us by your example how one handles adversity in their lives. I, for one, am learning, and will remember the lesson!
